Is this happening in your areas? I am not seeing much of it here.

Happy to say nearly all the CLEC’s equipment and DT is gone, The free ride is over and was a pain in our assets for too long.
Unfortunately, get ready for the musical chair surpluses at year end for outside techs. They have already started surplussing ET support groups. Lost 5ess switch group, Ethernet group, Uverse TRC surveillance group just in the first quarter. AI and overseas contractors are filling some of those positions, Grrr! Wait times have already increased significantly.
Basically most titles are protected except ET for rest of the year by a signed MOA between the company and Honeypot (union).
Retirement of Legacy equipment, yes, consolidation of CO’s no. Retiring a lot of the copper network, decommissioning Disc*s, Litespan, Slc 96, 5,ONU’s, D4, ddm1000, ddm 2000, Mux’s, DMX, Dacs, Titans, FLM 150, 2400, repeaters, RIP cooper and lead cable, 7300, 7330, FT 2000, 5 ess SM’s, etc….
Turning up alot of fiber equipment to replace the copper network, it’s the transformation of the transport system. Just like going from iron wire and pulp cable to copper pics cable and network years ago. Technology is always changing.
If you are talking about FDDI, it should have been done 20 years ago…
definite increase in decommissioning of legacy metro ring equipment in my OOR city, no CO stuff yet
MW.
And where is here?
