The company already pays your salary. Don't hold your retirement funds with them too. If the company fails you lose both your job and retirement funds.

Can you say Enron! Had a friend there back in the day. Six figure job, huge house in Houston, wife and two kids, luxury cars the works. When Enron collapsed he lost the salary, had 100% of retirement funds in Enron stock (company required it) and most of his savings in Enron stock due to a huge employee discount plan.

Two years later he called me from Superior Homes where we worked in the 1970's. No wife, no kids, no house, no luxury cars, no savings and looking forward to a retirement in the poor house.

Everyone thinks their company is immune to failure. Ask some of your legacy WB teammates what happened to their stock options and 401K balance when the stock dropped to $1.

I’m fairness all banks got hit hard today. WFC still lags it’s peers tho.
