Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Will servicing/ loss Mitigation get hit next?

Was bounced to servicing, loss mitigation area as well as a TON of other folks too. The workload is lite over here. Any word heard of downsizing over here too?

Probably not with the way the economy is about to head. They'll need all the loss mitigation people.

Underwriting all team call today says "right sizing" should be completed by summer. They didn't mention anything about the folks who had been transferred from home lending to servicing.

Sorry about that... Assumed you were another troll looking for rumors. And you're right, I could absolutely use a vacation.

They say we're still hiring but who really knows, it's all smoke and mirrors. If we go into a recession as some predict then we'll likely need to hire a lot more.

If you were really part of loss mit then you would have received an answer to that question on the all team call exactly 2 hours ago? Who's your manager?

Well, Wells Fargo has already announced they plan to significantly shrink their servicing portfolio. They will be selling hundreds of billions of MSRs in the next year or so. It makes sense that they will be significantly reducing workforce there.
