Debt

The market capitalization of AT&T is 131B.
And you say that its debt is 135B.
It seems that the stock price should be much lower.
Not satire at all...just hired a couple of technicians and still hiring 2 more. So, you can't hire new employees and layoff the older ones! It just doesn't happen, so once again I can say without question or pause that our business unit is very safe from any kind of layoffs!
Can the company offer the senior personnel an offer to leave on their own, SURE, but I clearly don't see that happening any time soon! The reason they're hiring more technicians is to satisfy the needs of the business, not to streamline the payroll!
This must be satire…
No one could be this ign*$nt.
“I do not fear layoffs in my business unit since we are hiring technicians which means our business unit is growing and will not reduce head count by any number! I don't understand why people keep stating that, "nobody is safe" when that couldn't be further from the truth! There are a lot of variables that go into the decision to reduce head count.”
A split is on the way….landline and mobility. Anything to detract from debt and hope and pray there is interest in the landline side.
keep drinking the stank koolaid.

Remember, last in first out. I can remember when U-verse was the "Future" of the company. So many U-Verse F150 trucks in the yard that it was hard to find a parking space. Now, not so much. Those techs are long gone along with their managers. We are decommissioning VRADS to the point that the company has automated the process so we don't have to call the U-TRC anymore. Those folks, if not gone now, will be soon. So, if your business unit is hiring techs, understand that this IS AT&T. AT&T hires and fires with great frequency employees that are not in the core contract. Many a tech thought it safe to go into management in one of these "growing" parts of the business only to get slapped with a heavy dose of AT&T "doesn't give a phuck about you". Remember what the smartest guy in any room said, our CEO, "Nobody is safe". So, do you think you're special?
“
Just convert some of that debt into equity and it will be good.”
Then all earnings won’t be enough to cover dividend.
I am in mobility and we do not fear debt. We are carrying the company.
Just convert some of that debt into equity and it will be good.
Today is employee appreciation day .., what a joke. This company has no loyalty to its employees so why should we be loyal ??
Drill, Baby. Drill!

its no big deal - just keep coming in and collecting that check because that is what really matters right.
Yes, it's the pink elephant in the room. Everyone acts like they don't see it, ignoring it as they step around it. The most indebted company in the world. It almost seems like Stankey intentionally destroyed at&t, don't know how else you could explain it.
No amount of bobbling your heads up and down during the Town Hall Webcast will reduce the very dangerous amount of debt that Randell and John have imposed on AT&T. As John has said. "Nobody is safe". Now, work hard and then work harder, to make AT&T better, you "might" be rewarded. No, just kidding. You are not safe. Remember, John said so.

This should make anyone think real hard before taking an annuity for their AT&T pension.
It was Randall Stevenson all the way! RS decided to go after Directv and then decided T needs the content as well to compliment the satellite service, hence, Warner. I remember as though it was yesterday watching RS in videos talking about his vision of AT&T in the future with these two companies if approved by the FCC and DOJ. He said he knew Directv was declining, but felt there was still enough value in it to recover the revenue paid for it! Wow, was he ever wrong!

The board will give the Stink more money for not being $200B in debt.
He deserves it.
Big, beautiful debt to make AT&T great again.
