Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Silent quitting

After all the hard work I put in last year then getting a big steamy dump on my chest from my boss, I've decided I'm silent quitting. I'm sick of being taken advantage of by this company and I'm done making the ALT rich on my back. Until I find something else,.I'm doing the bare minimum to not get fired, I don't give a sh*t anymore. Hope you're happy, HON.

Not buying what you're selling one bit. Looking at what you're shoveling, I can only say that you should pull up your pant legs because it's too late to save your shoes. You tell the workers you can't do anything about the raises while you make bank from keeping raises between 0 and 2.5%. No recognition for those of us who bust our a$$e$, especially at review time. You sign my time sheets that are 48+ hours every week and then tell me that I have a reputation as a 40 hour/week kind of person to keep me from anything more than a 5 in the 9-block. That's why I recently left, went to a competitor, and more than doubled my pay. They don't mandate me to work at least 48 hours every week.

Agree with all. Hearing mad dog groan about regrettable attrition then bragging how great the business is doing quarter after quarter but then screwing everyone on their financial reward is already old hat.

"Give yourself a pat on the back"

And

"Employee appreciation day free lunch" are NOT acceptable forms of compensation and or recognition. These goldbrickers are taking in tens of thousands if not hundreds of thousands in various forms of compensation then have the fvcking grapes to stand there and hand out free lunches and 3% raises in both the highest inflationary period and record breaking years is insulting.

@1ast+1lqlQsDU From one 'leader' to another. Straight from the manual, classic ;)
Lest we forget we choose which block our reports receive in their performance reviews.
We would be disingenuous to claim that we do not get rewarded for 'cost control' and without exposing too much we all feel certain 'influences'.
Please tell me with a straight face that you do not play the merit/mip game for your own gain. If there was a saint at Honeywell, I doubt they would be frequenting this board. Gold

So you, as a friendly director, have to respond to the VPs (MM) and tell them that they need to increase the compensation, or the attrition will continue to soar out of control. Unfortunately, they know this and could care less.

We are sick & tired of hearing about the ‘record month/quarter/year’ with no regard to paying for performance to those who made it happen. There are fewer & fewer of us left that actually influence positive outcomes, so let’s turn them also.

I am a leader and I get your frustration. Sadly, management has zero influence on the budgets given for merit or mip. I wish we did, but we don't. So if you have a friendly director, just know that those aren't excuses. We are limited heavily. And yes it sucks. And no i'm not an HR troll. Then again, that's what an HR troll would say. whatever

Customers.

Been quiet retiring for a year now. Pretty much only respond to my boss, or others in my department, or customers. Really don't ever go beyond what I feel is necessary. There has never a reason to stretch with Honeywell. There certainly will be no reward except maybe a non monetary mention in one of the useless quarterly open meetings.

I keep saying, if the engineers had the ba11s to just work 40 hours a week, it would take just 1 quarter before all directors and up were fired and corperate level to come in and make changes.

Welcome to reality. I got to this point back in 1999. Started working second jobs. Contract programmer positions for y2k then house flipping. Doubled my income from Honeywell by year two. Still do 40 hours at Honeywell but have zero need for the income. Funny thing is that my career here went just fine without the 70hr weeks. Even the revcog incentive stuff didn’t change my 40 and done routine. I will never be a VP but there is no doubt I make just as much $$ with half the stress. Someday they will rif my old carcass and I will smile and take the check.

Yep, I went through the same.
Realized our 'friendly' director was your best mate while you were hammering away at the work yet come merit/mip time suddenly full of excuses (whilst taking full credit from his leadership for our graft). He filled his pockets nicely may I add.
Once I clocked this and the futility of Honeywell in general I turned off the gas.
From lockdown onwards my work days at home are mostly spent working out, no one noticed as long as my Teams was on green ;) It feels good to get paid to be so lean, hahaha.

Honeywell better set up a permanent recruiter at the university of Michigan and Michigan state university to keep new employees coming in as enlightened people get wise and leave the company.
