It is not News if it has been happening since 2010 maybe longer, every 3 to 4 months somewhere in the company.
News would be AT&T is doing well. :)

Because layoffs at T aren't newsworthy. It's news when T doesn't do layoffs.

What are the big companies that everyone pays attention to doing (Microsoft, Google, etc)? Laying off. Making news with their layoffs.

well since there has not been an PR or information from AT&T it is not known. Almost every one you have found out about on the 'News' are from company announcements.
AT&T needs to lose at least another 30,000 employees this year.
Really, at this point it would be like the railroads laying off 10k employees. The rail companies have shed tens of thousands of employees in the last few years, safety be damned. Nobody cares as long as the trains run on time. With AT&T, as long as your services still work, no one cares.

T is no longer recognized as a tech leader in the industry and is not considered to be headline worthy.
Each state has their own rules for reporting layoffs. T knows their thresholds and stays under the radar.

So many other companies are laying off also. And T does it so often it's not news. It's the normal state of things.

Why would they? T is not a Tech company. Layoffs are BAU with the current economy.
