Ma bell has turned into a ruthless mother %$^&*!
This poster says it all…..
“ The Animals are running the Zoo called AT&T Cybersecurity, it has been so mismanaged. The Animals think they are untouchable. Program managers clueless about subject matter and keep pushing dates on tasks further out to not escalate. Cyber SME have book knowledge but little service provider level networking. The IT Systems people are stuck in expensive VMWare world and clueless about Docker. Overall mentality is “It’s the way we have always done it.”

We are running out of things to sell. What do you sell when your accounts all have your Internet running in their stores with your VoIP running on it?
They spent over a half billion on this.....might sell for 50. It will be buried in some convoluted agreement with the company that buys it.
"The acquisition of Alienvault was aimed at giving AT&T an edge in signing up and retaining corporate clients, but the deal's rationale has eroded as cybersecurity startups that offer cheap alternatives mushroomed."
Another winning decision by stank and rand.
No. The market for Cybersecurity is different from DirecTV and Warner. Cyber is on the rise, DirecTV is sh-t - going down. Warner was a money losing proposition also. Good for AT&T and very good for the cybersecurity business unit.
This is an intentional leak from an insider. AT&T wants to balance the bad news about newsmax with "good news" about selling off a division
The Purcellville VA, Columbia MD, Oakton VA, and Middletown NJ Cybersecurity are just downright toxic.
Last fall, they got rid of the one AVP leading Public Sector Cybersecurity, long overdue by more than 4 years.
The Senior Principal Architects are overpaid Level 3 and have little to no hands on experience. Oversell and under deliver.
The middle management does not hire A-Team players. The mostly C-Team players may have certs, but not actual experience in real life. As far as DevSecOps, it is non-existent in Public Sector. Version control is passing a Word document around in email, as compared to using a version control system. The productive knowledgeable workers have let over several years that ever (4) C-Team players can not replace (1) productive knowledgeable employee.
The entire AT&T Public Sector could easily be chopped in half. There is a lot of deadwood. The middle management hangs on to deadwood to make chopping painless. The org needs to be flattened. Too many AVP’s, too many silos, and too many close to retirement that are basically retired already collecting a paycheck for no value-add.
It is the customers that suffer with missed deadlines due to the toxic matrix management that are really silos that do not have the team ethos.
AT&T can't pay the going rates for the top talent in this field. Great insight by leadership
