Half of the overbuild group were let go in my area, also several engineers and none were voluntarily. Contractors can only absorb so many with more layoffs to come this summer, just don’t know which group(s) yet.

I got the call last Friday that I was being cut. I already landed a new job making more money and 100% remote. The grass is greener on the other side. I wish everyone else the best during this time, and I hope everyone land’s something better.
The list I was emailed had 409 people surplused out of about 2700 total in the Altomari group. Roughly 80 were voluntary.
Thankfully there are a good number of competitors hiring, hopefully most of us will be able to land somewhere decent.

As long as eligible for rehire was checked HR and exec don’t check who is back and Their former work ethic and performance or why they were let go

what is sad is they go back and work at att. just like battered spouse syndrome go back for more.

These numbers are local area specific, anyone else is welcome to add any confirmed numbers from their areas. There were a lot more employees let go, this is just a snapshot.
10 out of 20 in the overbuild group were let go, know of at least 6 engineers but not their specific job functions. Also heard a sales group was let go but don’t have any specifics or confirmation.
Yes there will be more layoffs this summer not sure what group(s), it has been talked about in a recent town hall at the end during the question and answer part. It’s also been talked about since last year.

What kind of engineers ? Didn’t the company just hire a bunch of engineers last year to meet the demand for fiber ?
