This news came as a nuclear bo-b to me and all I could think of was my wife and kids. I have hit the ground running and will be ok because God has never let me down. What stings equally as bad as losing my job is knowing this was coming for years but choosing not to act. AT&T is a woke company with a woke culture during at a time when our government is at its most corrupt that I have ever seen in my lifetime. AT&T has made one poor business venture after another for so long and this surplus is just another consequence. The U.S. that patriotic Americans like me used to admire is in a freefall and it's gaining speed, and for reasons too numerous to mention. If you were affected by this layoff, just remember to keep your Eyes, thoughts, and efforts focused on what really matters in this world (God & Family) and the rest will work itself out.

Whether you believe in God or not, you do not need to be insulting, tactless and rude. Nobody is questioning why you do not believe in god, you are able to have the same courtesy and stop questioning people who happened to believe in God. If that is their comfort, then so be it. If you are not going to help, then why do you need to hurt them? This person already got laid off, have some compassion. There is nothing wrong with believing and NOT believing in God. I also do not believe in God because if I did, I would refuse to believe that he made such judgmental, thoughtless, barbaric people like you.

Perhaps we could leave all the religious reference out of this post altogether. If you think God has anything to do with you keeping or losing your job, you’re an id--to. Dust off your resume and start the job search NOW. This is not new news here at AT&T.
For the atheist here, a simple question for you. How did the universe come to be? The big bang says it created itself, it came out of nothing. But how can something, anything, come out of nothing?
For the God-fearing who lost their jobs, remember that our Heavenly Father wouldn't create us without having a way to provide for us. Best wishes and keep the faith.
After close to 26 yrs here I got the call too. Honestly thought I was safe because I did my job well. Im still in shock but not discouraged. It’s gonna be ok.

Honestly, ATT's decision to trim the workforce was well documented and announced as far back as 2015. Leadership told us that the goal was to cut 40% of the workforce. Remember those calls? I was 'awake' when that was announced so technically that means I'm also 'woke'. As much as it stings to have your number called, this isn't personal, political or a social issue. It's strictly business. Maybe try to stay awake during those townhall, HR, all hands on deck calls...Stop making this a pity party. Go get a job dude.
