Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Cost of a completely disengaged workforce

As I clicked past insider this AM, I noted the "Relive the Rally and be inspired by our Purpose" nonsense posted up there. I did not, and will not watch it. As it would seem most don't. It has 23 "thumbs up" clicks on it. Twenty three. 23 out of what, still 190,000 employees or so?

Do you think it ever occurs to them that these cringy, fake, "look at all the fun our wacky team is having" videos are a complete waste of time and resources? Do you think it ever occurs to them this type of nonsense amidst a huge layoff is at the very least poorly timed? Do they very ever look at the ridiculously low number of clicks on this nonsense and then ask themselves why that is?

Here's my Purpose: To keep trying to avoid being laid off, and somehow try to do my job within the wreckage that comes after the constant, never ending, layoffs.

Oh, and to avoid at all costs corporate videos featuring fake VP's yukking it up and trying so hard to act funny and wacky.

Stankey turning company around. Adjusting the workforce as needed.

No. Stankey is looking to run the ship aground in shallow waters so it doesn't go to the bottom of the phucking ocean.

Um, because at&t still owns 70% of dtv. At&t still owns 70% of DTV because when DTV went up for sale there were no buyers. There continue to be no buyers. Charlie Ergen of Dish tv will eventually buy dtv, but on his terms. Charlie, unlike at&t, will never overpay for acquiring an asset. Anyway that's why DTV employees still show indirectly reporting to stankey.

As of this morning in Amplify there are 155,555 employees that fall under the Stankey chain of command. That includes DTV under Morrow. Why is DTV still lingering around?

No where near 190k employees. Perhaps you should know a little more about the company you work or consider doing some level of research before tossing stats.

Stankey is and always has been a loser. No one can stomach his persona. He is so full of himself but there is no good reason for it. I can't think of one single positive accomplishment throughout his less than stellar career. He had better stay at at&t, I'm certain no other company would have his toxic a s s.

I did watch the AT&T Possibility Rally on Monday, and thought it was ok for a corporate cheerleading event. Then, two days later my director told our team to expect a memo from the EVP saying that flex employees will be expected to start showing up at the office four days a week, and status of full time teleworkers will be reviewed and maybe revoked in most cases. I think most employees will view return to office as a big negative. I support most leadership decisions, but juxtaposing these calls with all this bad news doesn't incentivize anybody, and I dont blame folks for being cynical.

The kind of thing you are suggesting would never occur to corporate psychopaths... That stuff is right up their alley.

Yes, some of the comments are so ridiculous and over the top... "Love it!!! Thanks for being so awesome and making this such an awesome place to work! So inspirational!"

It is completely nauseating. And SO pathetic.

As if there is some box that will be checked that will save their job and put them on the fast track for promotion after they leave such a ludicrous comment.

What I don’t understand is the typically thousands of positive comments praising Stankey and kissing his behind. Are these real employees ? Are they bots ? Have they no shame ? It’s so disgustingly fake how they drool over him like he’s a rock star and cheer his stupidity on
