So my club is finally getting the produce/dairy walk in coolers in a few months. What's the pros/cons of these bad boys? I'm so excited considering I'm the lead over those areas!

Is there room for 11 pallets of eggs and 9 pallets of milk on the same day?
If possible leave whatever milk that's low in the main cooler on the ground.
Pros nobody wants to be in the dairy cooler (it's too cold as they nag) so it's peaceful.
Con: the sour cream isn't in the dairy cooler. Also if you're out of something the members can look in the steel. Our brand new cooler leaks like it's 20 years old.
Get ready to be asked constantly where milk, eggs, and butter are. We've had ours for years and people still ask!
PITA. You'll likely have to run your produce deliveries across the club. If you're like our market, your trucks will usually get there around 7. So by the time you get them to the cooler it's time to open. you'll have to stock while dodging members. Having the grab at everything new just coming in. Many will slither between & behind the steel to pull from the back. I've seen some climb up the steel trying to get what is on the middle steel or tear the wrap & rip open the box to get product in the steel. You'll constantly have to pickup demo cups & cafe soft drink cups, pizza crust that lousy members toss behind the steel.
Our dc does not ship us pallets of freight. They ship us almost the same thing everyday. Depending on the tie, 5 or 10 cucumbers, 12 or 6 spinach, 5 or 10 lemons, etc.... Your dates will be extremely hard to keep up with because of this. Whereas if they shipped you 24 spring mix twice a week, it would be simpler. This company is so good at turning what could be an easy job into something difficult & time consuming.
ok.. so I left a few months ago but I still come here to keep up with the gossip , ol' biddy that I am... so tell me about these new coolers?
Only other thing they should have done was make the reserve steel/ceiling higher in these coolers like Costco. Much more space for the gazillion pallets of milk they send the clubs.
You guys are saying home office made a good decision. Miracles do happen after all lol
No more glass doors to clean. And all their cracks and crevases that hold little food particles. A million snotty little kids fingerprints. People do throw a lot if demo cups and napkins in there. Easy peasy to stock and rotate.
You will love them. Especially if your refrigerated foods cooler is packed. Easy to stock since you will be putting full pallets. Initial setup is a pain but after that, it's great.
Same here, anxious to hear.
