Internal Audit is now hiring individuals to lead audits that do not have any audit or control testing experience.
Based on the nature of the hires I can only assume this is being done to meet DEI metrics. These metrics do affect Audit Director and above bonuses.
I have never seen so many people hired in audit with no audit background and yes they are all diversity candidates.
It's even more lopsided if you ignore the fake jobs like "head of diversity". All those jobs are is a way for white execs to say "see? I care about this!". Not really. Look at CEO, COO, and CAOs direct reports, without the fake jobs. Yeah, pretty much all white people. Not that I'm racist against white people, but the A holes running these groups tell us that WE need to hire from certain demographic groups over and over and over again, and they pretty much never do themselves. It's hypocrisy at its finest. It's insulting how they expect us to suffer the indignities that they heap upon us.
Maybe Wells shouldn't have at least 20 to 30 people doing Rcsa, audit or risk or DEI to each one person doing the actual work. Hire more people to do actual business and they would have manageable work loads to concentrate on doing things right always the first time.
You know all this complaining about DE&I yet have you noticed there is no change in the snow like look of our senior leaders. I mean if we saw the needle move then maybe you could have this as legitimate but it has not happened.
Unless JPM is a new category of diversity it ain't happening.
I went to work in Audit after 10+ yrs here in the front line in various mgmt roles....was astonished and baffled on the daily at the incompetence level of all these kids with 8 acronyms after their names and no ability to find their way out of a wet paper bag.
Within 6 mos, I was heralded as an Audit SME with no formal Audit background. Common sense and experience goes quite a long way further than passing a certification test. (Side note - ill never get a CIA, CRCM, CISA....they mean nothing in my experience working here)
I found that Audit was fake....nobody followed Audit procedures despite the group having the best documented trainings and procedures for how to do everything.
Workpapers for Audit engagements were a complete mess and about 8 of 10 Audit personnel couldn't facilitate a walk through discussion with a LOB partner.
The place was full of confused id--ts and many were racing for the door the whole time I was there. Glad I got out and escaped to another dumpster fire.

The Head of Technology Audit is the most confused and incompetent leader I’ve met so far at WF after being here for several years. She comes across as pretty rude too in meetings that I’ve sat in on. As long as this means fewer tech issues then I’m happy. Nothing to see here.

DIE: strong arming the rest of the company hiring "favored groups" so that the execs can hire their white bros from JPM without seriously impacting this 'important' metric.
