Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Operational Risk Management Town Hall - 3/22/2023

Three execs (Op Risk, Compliance and Operations) got together to brainstorm how to make their employees work life balance better due to RCSA and other related stressful programs. BJ spat out a bunch of cr-p, i.e. no meetings past 4 on Fridays, don't work weekends or during your PTO, book flights for Mondays, bleh bleh.

The obvious, OBVIOUS, solution is WFH.

Jumped ship last year to a peer bank. Had the opportunity to observe how robust the RCSA program is at the new bank makes me realize how deep of a hole WF is with RCSA. WF is f*cked. Good luck ya’ll.

FRCSA. It's largely corporate busy work.

There was no say in the matter given to those put on RCSA…certainly no incentives. Good luck if you are remote while the rest are in person and you have to take notes or follow along…very hard to hear. But who wants to travel for weeks or have an hour commute each way to the site? Not me.Crazy hours, not enough breaks and going over the same things over and over again. Wish I was never selected for this.

FRTO, WFH has always been the solution, not just to employee morale issues but also cutting costs and risk. Any exec suggesting otherwise is clearly out of touch.

RCSA is a joke. Have fun putting that on your resume. It doubles down on the shame of having WF on your resume.

@iuv+1lLAS9GJ I’ve had many leaders say the same. However, miss a deadline and you’ll get the wrath. It’s not about what they say it’s about how they put what they say into action.

If they are so overworked on that team, why does WF continue to get billion dollar fines?

From what I know, the people go back to their old roles.
The incentive is that there is a lot of visibility in this project, so if you were part of the success it will help your career.
If it’s not a success……..best of luck.

Question to “temporarily assigned” RCSA employees: What happens when your gig is up? Do you get to go back to your old job? Do you get to apply for higher jobs in Risk? Just curious how they incentivized you in to accepting the assignment.

I feel confident that Bill will do a good job leading us, and telling us not to work too hard is a good start.
Many execs will never admit this publicly, good for him for saying it.

If you're overworked on RCSA, working on weekends isn't necessarily avoidable. And if it is, it's only because you crammed your 90 hour workweek within the 5 weekdays. This doesn't mean you worked from 7 am - midnight. No, they want you to start your workday earlier because of the I&P operating hours. So you get to start working at 4 am instead! But cheer up, you tried to protect your weekends and no one booked a meeting with you after 4 pm on Fridays. You're able to work uninterrupted from 4 pm - 10 pm on Fridays.
