I fall into this bucket and unsure why that is.
Early 2020 I chose to resign w/ severance over a forced relocation. HR canceled this plan when pandemic hit which rescinded my resignation. I looked up and down at all the documents and it was not legally binding.
Since then I have lost count of how many others have quit, laid off or retired early. Everyone was gutted on my team except me and the bulk of work magically shifted over to India. The ironic thing is that everyone laid off were not remote and did not want to get laid off either. Most were in their 50's and hoping to ride out their employment to 59 1/2.
Who doesn't love a good conspiracy right? Sometimes I feel like since I played my hand back in 2020 to resign, my manager or someone is keeping me on as a gigantic dustpan to clean up things or transfer info to my replacements.
Severance is important for me but wow, I am about ready to quit and live out of my car. You are winning WF, you are winning. Well done.
