Yep, my group typically works about half the notice period, but many groups they yank your access and show you the door right away. It's not a bad deal, you get paid for the 60 days and don't have to work at all. I've never quite figured out why people complain about 0 day downsizing. Same pay, less work.
They absolutely do 0 day notices. This has been happening for several years now. It can apply to layoffs, not just "for cause" situations.
Typically you will still get 60 days non-working notice and then severance. That said, some people may have working notices. Depends on the role and the risk.

If 11 am comes and goes without a sudden meeting invite, I will be a sad little puppy. Then I'll come here for rumors of another layoff wave next week and keep taking it one day at a time...
My understanding is that if you’re being laid off you’ll get an email invitation out of the blue to join call. Usually the email invite comes around 10:45am for an 11:00am conference call. The call ends up being a pre-recorded message informing you of your displacement advising of more instructions to follow. There is usually a 3 hour window to wind down your work & change your out of office reply’s before your system access shuts down.
I have one of those meetings - I'm in UX.
Half my team has meetings tomorrow morning.
Those of you with impromptu big boss meetings tomorrow, what areas specifically do you work in?
The meetings scheduled tonight sound more like update meetings to calm the waters or coincidental.
Did someone say that they inform you that you’re being laid off with an email to your personal email?

Still hoping I am included in the layoff tomorrow! I interacted briefly with my manager today, but all seemed normal. I am either not being laid off, or she was told I was and played it close to the vest. Even if I am not laid off, I will still hold out hope for a layoff sooner than later if it seems like this isn't The Big One and there may be other decently sizable waves later.
Also, hope like he-l they give you a non-working notice. Heard they also give working notices, which would suck. I was/am an underwriter, so obviously got non-working since I’m sure they have a fear of non-ethical behavior.
Layoff package sent to your personal e-mail address. They gave us about 2-3 hours after the news to wrap things up and lost all systems access at that time. Make sure your personal info in Workday is up to date as trying to sign in from “teamworks at home” is a real pain if you don’t. Lead time for our call was only about an hour

Zero-day notice, meaning you are cutoff (userID zz'd) and immediately begin the 60 day notice period. If not hired back, then severance begins after.
I haven't seen any true zero days in the 2 years these layoffs have been happening. Those are reserved for terminations for cause. What I've seen are x hour to 1-3 day max accounts remaining operational to close stuff out. That being said there is no requirement to say goodbye to people you dislike.
So is it zero day notice or 60 days? Or zero day notice and 60 days severance?

Remote (10+ years) in technology and this may be it.
If there is a silver lining to the zero-day notice, won't have to craft a goodbye email and figure out who to send it to.
My understanding was this is going to be an attack on non-hub employees not a mass layoff.
