IFP and Legal Mandate

Carve out groups in design engineering?

Workloads are extremely low and these groups are unnecessary.

Most of the engineers just hangout and talk all day.

Outsource network tower deals - we own nothing — it’s just lease arrangements & getting company to put up capital - T has no money for build / own almost nothing / most towers assets were sold

Contractors have been building the wireless network for years. Supply chain Turf driver pricing. All T does is issue a PO.

This sounds like a troll for the contracting company to benefit from outsourcing work. Only way it really works for the company is its project based not a full time contract because every time contract is due the price increases and now you’ve lost your experience and leverage. Contract companies know it too.

Let’s just outsource everything and just be a company of C-suites. Don’t own anything including intellectual property. Hmm, wonder where that ends.

Surplus engineering assistants and specialists too.

Contracting engineering failed before because the local managers designed it to fail. They went through the motions and told upper mgt how bad the idea of contracting is.

IFP is almost exclusively contracted now. Time to get rid of paper pushers.

Road move/legal mandate teams are woefully incompetent.

They’ve tried contracting out engineering a couple of times in past. Didn’t work out well and they were brought back in-house. If there is a right of way group then that definitely could be folded into other engineers task or are you talking about the road move group?

Do we need a right of way group? Contract that out to professionals.

Many AVP level and up have the same M.O. Need to rightsize the near useless titles and collapse the command and control hierarchy before removing ones that actually contribute to the bottom line.
