Behaviors don't matter

Wow. They say behaviors matter and the company considers 360 feedback. If this is the case what other criteria trumped leadership behaviors in in the selection of the new senior GOM leadership.

These “unusual “ appointments to high positions used to be rare but under MW have become the norm.

The recent appointment of KCL to senior CNE leadership was very demoralizing.

@2tqb, that NMA premium is so high because it comes at a cost - living in a company camp (i.e., minimum-security prison), being unable to just wander into the country, plucking your family out of all things 'normal', and stifling your career advancement. If you're close to retirement, the last one doesn't matter. Oh, and if the job doesn't work out, or the expat (or local) management is inept (both highly likely), you're stuck there for a minimum of three years, most likely five.

GOM has been Chevron's epicenter of poor leadership, cronyism, and favoritism for at least a decade now. Please note these vaunted leaders have left a trail of destroying the Shelf (and then selling it), and then destroying deepwater (by doing nothing, ultimately it'll get sold as well).

If your close to retirement and want to use the NMA uplift to boost your leaving cash pot then go for it....but beware the new director and a certain other expat lady will push you out the door the first time you fail to read their mood.

The GOM leadership selection while dubious at best pales into insignificance compared to new director of deep-water Nigeria/midafrica talk about chosen, one horrible individual who cares for no one except herself and those who can help her crawl higher.. watch you back freinds in Lekki.

The recent GOM leadership selection, is an absolute disgrace. Clearly shows technical knowledge, behaviour and all the other expected leadership attributes were totally ignored in favor of a chosen one. She will be the end of GOM

there are several factors that can influence the selection process for a leadership position, and behaviors are just one of them. Other factors that could be considered include the candidate's technical expertise, experience, education, business acumen, communication skills, strategic thinking, and their alignment with the organization's mission and values.

It is also possible that behaviors were considered important, but other factors were deemed to be of higher priority in the particular selection process for the senior GOM leadership position. Every organization has it’s own unique needs, priorities, and criterias for evaluating and selecting a leader, and its up to the decision-makers’ to determine what is most important for a given roll.
