The hits keep coming - Lawsuit Accuses Wells Fargo of Failing to Protect Female SVP from Se-ual Harassment

Model banking behavior im sure. Right up there with that Indian Wells Fargo executive urin8ing on some old lady on a plane.

The corporate culture here cannot be fixed.

Shut it down.

Wells Fargo's Latest Lawsuit Alleges Massive Se-ual Harassment, Ra-e

The latest lawsuit, which was filed in the Los Angeles County Superior Court on Thursday, alleges that a female Senior Vice President was subjected to a "hostile work environment that included ra-e by a superior, ongoing se-ual harassment, vulgar behavior, and retaliation" after she tried to report it to superiors.

According to the lawsuit, a plaintiff referred to as Jane Doe, whose identity was confirmed by TheStreet, joined Wells Fargo as a Senior Vice President, Wealth Advisor in Southern California in April 2018. Between then and her resignation in July 2021, she alleges to have been subject to "se-----y explicit comments and inappropriate touching" by superior Eric R. Pagel. The allegation includes multiple groping instances, telling the plaintiff her "bu-t look[ed] good in skinny jeans," suggesting that she "exchange s-x for money" and referring to other women as "dogs" in her presence.

On one occasion, the plaintiff reports drinking at a hotel bar with Pagel, Regional Private Banking Manager and Senior Vice President David Weitzel and four other colleagues during a business trip to Bakersfield, CA in late Jan. 2020. The lawsuit claims that Weitzel walked the plaintiff back to her hotel room and left her there, but Pagel knocked soon after and, after entering, "proceeded to se-----y as----t and ra-e Plaintiff while she was intoxicated."

"I had thought that, being in a professional environment, something like this would never happen to me," Doe, to whom TheStreet has granted anonymity, said. "I had this mix of emotions from scared to disbelief. A lot of trauma and a lot of shock and just being completely disappointed in Wells Fargo and how they handled and did not handle my case."

Let’s not forget they stole her phone and took inappropriate pictures. How fun, BOYS!

Why am I taking 10, 000 classes on ethical behaviors when managers do this and Human Resources turns the other way.

WOW

https://nypost.com/2023/02/03/wells-fargo-exec-was-ra--d-by-colleague-punished-lawsuit/

"The woman also alleges in the court filing that she was subjected to repeated instances of se-ual harassment, including vulgar remarks and crude innuendos about her appearance.

Pagel is alleged to have repeatedly suggested that Jane Doe “exchange s-x for money” by divorcing her husband and “getting into bed with a wealthy client’s son,” according to the lawsuit.

Just weeks after the alleged ra-e, Pagel allegedly told Jane Doe she would be a “great match” for their “wealthy client” because the client “is attracted to beautiful women and is having a se-ual relationship with his secretary.”

When Jane Doe complained to Weitzel about Pagel’s “inappropriate comments,” Weitzel “merely suggested that Plaintiff should not give Pagel a ‘window of opportunity’ to be inappropriate,” according to the court filing."

This story should be repeated over and over until wf has a response. If even one of these claims are true all employees should have been let go. Read the full lawsuit online with much more detail. This isn’t the first lawsuit relating to the good old boy club that covers for each other and promotes more good old boys that will continue the cover up or ignore behaviors or risky processes. Time for all of these reports to come to light, hr!

@1uqh, if you think MM is innocent, you are mistaken. And all I see her do is get her face plastered all over the news. She's taking the stagecoach for a ride for as long as she can.

HR isn’t here to protect victims or even employees. HR is here to protect WFC..PERIOD. @1aon Mary Mack was running WFA during the account scandal time frame. WFA was not involved with that. That was Carrie Toldstedt, while bumbling Stumpf was too busy to pay attention because he was getting his picture on magazine covers bragging about the Bank That Works.

@cul, HR is useless! Completely useless. And what would MM do? If you don't think she knows about all of this and is party to all of the scandals from the fake accounts on and more, you are mistaken!!

I’m sorry but to put names on accusations like this is pretty awful. What if these guys end up being found totally innocent? These articles better all be deleted at that point.

She had an open investigation with HR for 8 months before she left in 2021! Hr head should be fired and the alleged perpetrator is still employed!!! This is unbelievable. Mary Mack please take over this company, they are running it into the ground. It doesn’t get any worse than this.

WFC male exec urinating on plane, WFC male manager sued for ra-ing a female employee, many more men at WFC se-----y harassing women every day but HR is more interested in protecting the bank than the victims, male CEOs in charge between 2002 and 2015 while 18.2 million fake and unauthorized accounts were opened, man running Home Lending when WFC fined $1 Billion for unethical conduct in its mortgage and auto loans business, WFC man in charge of foreign currency services where we were fined $72 Million for overcharging and misleading customers about foreign exchange fees, Charlie can’t get us out from under the Federal Asset Cap in his 3.5 years as CEO but we keep paying him $24.5/year for essentially rearranging the deck chairs, men make up 75% of our Senior Leadership and Governance.

The boys have done a fine job.

Not shocking. Feel for that woman and hope she can find peace in time.

Wonder if there had been any risk assessments for performing work in office vs out of. I thought risk assessments were a thing there, all around, or should be.

The ability for Charlie to excuse misbehavior as a consequence of past leadership should be nearing its expiration date. While this specific incident may be more isolated, it is the latest of several examples of company misconduct UNDER HIS WATCH.
