Laid off and struggling. Depression creeping in along with anxiety.
Not laid off, but I can say in general this sort of "assistance" is quite useless and a cynical exercise. It's become standard. You typically get a couple of sessions with an employment "counselor" who asks you what other careers might fit you, or suggests studying, or watching videos; or (gasp) "Have you tried networking?"
Had this at my last job. It really was no actual help at all. It's to limit employer liability - "We tried to help them but..."
