I know VSP will be followed by layoffs, and I'm guessing it's going to happen within weeks. I'm wondering if it's true that the majority of those laid off in past rounds are people who've been with the company for years, or even decades?

Happened to me. Senior member on my team, laid off while those I trained did not get let go. No PIP, or performance issues ever noted.
From my experience it’s been last in first out. This company doesn’t always layoff highest paid. They are extremely top heavy. I see PL with literally no one under them. Who are they actually leading?
This is entirely different than a usual layoff this is about them restrcturing and lower their costs/expenses.
@am in 2023, the person in my dept impacted was newer than me and made less than me.
Absolutely, usually the ones who make high salaries because of their tenure. Same job in the market pays 20% less. Centene wants new faces with new ideas and who are looking to grow who will one day be set aside and layed off after their tenure gets long
