We just got moved to a different floor In HQ, and there's not enough desks for the number of people. But they require us to be in office 5 days a week sitting on this floor. We can't leave stuff on our desks because it's supposed to be flex seating but people do. And if you get there later than 8am, good luck sitting somewhere with a monitor. People are buying their own portible monitors. They are sitting in the lunch area and hopping from huddle room to huddle room. It's f***ed.

@cg so what you are basically saying is, that all of corporate America treats their employees like they work in a call center. That is considered progress… lord help us.
Unfortunately, this is what leadership wants. You are just a cog and an expense in their machine, and they care less about you. Inflicting pain and suffering is intentional. In fact, it is the unspoken and unwritten additional culture pillar. The more miserable the work environment is, it will translate into resignations. No severance payments required so, so it is the preferred attrition method. It is what leadership jokingly likes to refer to as “shaking the trees”.
They really are abhorrent and sorry excuses for human beings.

You must work in the Galvanek organization under JVB. We had to be in Dallas and our AD gets to stay in Atlanta with one other teammate while the rest of us were made to move. Not enough desks, the area to eat is taken over by people working with no where to sit. Then there are her favorites that are allowed to be remote and never go to the office.
Open office seating has become the standard in corporate America.

Report it to GRE and your supervisor. Then go out on workers comp for your back and neck due to ergonomics issues.
They still have 30k to cut by Q1, don’t worry there will be desks soon enough. Another 10% cut in Sept followed by another 10% in Jan.
Make no mistake…it’s intentional. Those Machiavellians are seeking any means to ratchet up the pressure. They want folks gone asap…sans severance.
Feature, not a bug
The ones that make the rules have desks. The rest have to fend for themselves. The problem will take care of itself given the wave of layoffs rumored to be coming.

Not having enough seating in HEADQUARTERS of all places is insanity. Its a multistory building and I guarantee you not every floor is at capacity. They're trying to make you as uncomfortable as possible so you'll leave on your own.

I was surplussed last year and would love to come back even if meant 5 days in the office.
See you on the commute! But stay behind me on the road so I can have a better chance at securing a desk.
A lot more flex seating will be available in September. Until then, set an alarm and be in by 7.
