Thread regarding Fidelity Investments layoffs

So are the jobs on the workday legit openings ?

Are they really looking to hire internally or is that fake job postings? I saw one I liked but I feel like internal hires might be blown off.

@j4 tell me you're a liar with no friends without telling me you're a liar with no friends. Certain select pump & dump roles are still being filled but a lot of the listed postings are frozen until further notice.

@eq tell me you don’t know anything without telling me you don’t know anything. Fidelity is hiring like crazy. I had 4 friends joined last week.

@aq this happened to me. Applied for a role that was a 100% match then messaged the hiring manager and recruiter asking if we could talk to learn more. They never responded. Months later I looked up the hiring manager's reports and it was the same as the day I applied. The role was never real.

There's a company wide hiring freeze until they figure out RTO space

“Career Vitality”!! We’ve had 7 awesome associates and 2 Directors leave my dumpster fire of a group - to escape and not to seek their dream job. This is their goal. YOU MEAN NOTHING TO THEM!

I’m reading this as a negative for growth and promotions at Fidelity.
It’s all bull cr-p then looking to advance or try a new type of role.
They either are not real jobs, or you’ll not get the job if you aren’t best buds with the hiring manager and they don’t offer you the respect to tell you.

Probably minus the hiring freeze because we won’t fit and there’s not enough parking. So we need people and roles, but we won’t fit.

@d0 HR recently told managers that Fidelity is no longer offering sponsorship to external candidates for the time being.

They will fill the role with an H-1B.

The other thing about Workday which makes it a bit confusing is when you search by your state you may see jobs that they really not hiring for your state. I wish Workday only posted job openings for the specific state. I've noticed most all the open roles are sales positions and I've also noticed there seems to be a lot of turnover in those roles. Same positions, same locations. It's obvious that the grind has increased to where no one really stays long.

Try messaging the recruiter or hiring manager saying you'd like to know more about the post. If they don't respond it's likely fake..

Some are real but most are ghost roles to make it look like the company is still hiring.

@a3 yea that’s what I was afraid of not what you know but who you know. I was hoping it was just me thinking that. So much for fidelity encouraging personal growth and development. All lip service.

They only recruit external candidates... internal jobs only applicable cousins and bof/girl friends of A0's & Svp's.
