BTC Takeover: All Key Strategy, Planning, and High-Visibility Roles Going to Them

Is it just me, or is everyone seeing the same trend?
Almost every early-career, mid-career, hyper-growth, high-visibility role is being given to BTC folks.
Examples include opportunity advisors, planners, commercial roles, LNG commercial roles, and project manager roles.
If true, this is a betrayal. The sad part is that we’re sitting ducks.

With the attrition in India, EM will need to recruit more trash hut dwellers willing to work for 1/10 normal salary and train them constantly, then the next replacements, then the next replacements.

Maybe if EM paid 1/5 normal salary then retention would increase and the need for training to use indoor plumbing could stop.

EM should track how many hours are expended in Spring to make BTC appear successful.
Also should add up all the travel costs for HC10 managers and advisors to travel to Bangalore and all the Engineering offices to help make those successful.
EM Executives drinking koolAid thinking BTC is independently successful and ready to PIP all the HC10 Advisors that lead the success.

If you needed another sign to leave, this is a pretty good one. Opportunities will continue to shrink outside of BTC.

BTC moving to a much larger campus while Spring campus abandons buildings, but still has to keep A/C on, so no mold destroys the building.

With all the BTC staff on campus, they could fill one of the abandoned buildings.

BTC gets credit even when the success was due to the input from a retirement eligible HC10 guy making all the corrections and contacting all parties involved. I actually had a BTC buyer ask me to contact a supplier to ask the supplier not to hang up the phone when they hear an Indian accent.

It's true. In Procurement for example,, they have been having everyone extensively document category strategies, negotiation plans, etc., into a repository. They think we're too stupid to realize that they want this documentation to enable quick "knowledge transfers" to BTC people. Of course "knowledge transfers" are a fallacy. You need more than a series of industry overview slides & spend trend statistics to know how to manage these categories. It won't end well, but "leadership" doesn't care. They will take the money & run, leaving the aftermath to be someone else's problem. The only winners will be the consulting companies that will be paid later to tell the next batch of "leadership" how to do another reorg.

Guaranteed to not end well. The outcome is being forced without the BTC being ready. They do not have the capability yet. This will lead to problems. Reminds me of what happened in South Africa when they forced quotas into the operator of their power grid.

Frankly, it’s infuriating to watch a company talk about “efficiency” while the lived reality is that local jobs are quietly siphoned off to lower‑cost regions. The logic is cold: reduce payroll, expand margins, declare victory. But the human cost sits with people like us who built the institutional knowledge, the stability, the quality, and now get told that someone thousands of kilometres away can “do the same work” for a fraction of the salary.
