Thread regarding USAA layoffs

Layoffs Needed To Right The Ship

Remote employees need to go. From worker bees to upper management. If you can relocate to San Antonio or another major office, then find another company to work for.

All these full-time WFH vampires are draining the true culture of USAA. Our military members can't WFH when the call comes to deploy. Neither should anyone at USAA who isn't a military spouse.

Toodles!

@1jf listen a hole. I raised three children and I know it is not possible to watch a two year old while working. Life is full of choices and working vs child care is a big one once you are a parent. You can’t expect your company and coworkers to take up your slack because you aren’t capable of making that decision on your own.

I’ve been on video conference calls with a coworker who had her 2-year old on her lap for the meeting more than once. Seriously? That is why no one can WFH.

Awe, I bet you love your pizza party celebrations too don’t you. I know, you must be secretly jealous that you’re not wfh. Chill bro - it’s not that serious. The culture is gross because of far bigger issues than people who work from home.

Lifers in San Antonio complain about the culture but in reality they are finally being held accountable.

Non military employee here but I agree completely. Even if it means I get cut.

Righting the ship requires brining in more former military members, former military leaders and tuning the clock back to 2017.

USAA understood a simple formula, take care of the employees they take care of the members.

100+ non military leases later we still have not closed the consent order, still cannot get the right manpower levels and still have no clue.

The bank layoffs back on January 28th impacted a lot of the remote employees. My director/manager was impacted along with our BBPC and Process Owner, all were remote. The next round of layoffs, those numbers have already been finalized (5% cut), it’s just when they make the announcement.

OP just look up current job postings at USAA, lots of remote positions scattered throughout most cities in this country, from MSRs to adjusters. And remember those years when USAA's strong selling point to university hires was that they could work remotely?

@a5

I'm a bootlicker because I don't want to pay the expenses you are gifted by a WFH role? Go "work" elsewhere you co-mie traitor.

@OP

Agreed 100!

WFH should be out the door, right behind bootlickers like you. Do update me as to your last day so I can begin arranging for my departure.
