Thread regarding Hertz layoffs

Hertz needs new CEO

Hertz needs to get rid of the Atlanta gang and bring Scott Thompson the former DTG CEO in. Scott fixed Dollar Thrifty before and is one of the few qualified people with the experience to do it again. None of these current people know what they are doing... heck even Gillys own choice, Henry Kuykendall, bailed after about a year. Then they create ORO while everything else is being liquidated and streams of layoffs happen?

@1jg that’s more than 10 nails in the Hertz coffin. Is throwing a grenade to what’s left of the Hertz carcass.

What Hertz needs is a new Board and a new set of leaders VP and higher. The entire thing is rotten and compromised. Cut a deal with private investors and delist. Get rid of Dollar and Thrifty. Focus on restoring Hertz to be a real premium brand. This is a 5 year effort. Stabilize the company and then look to expand into profitable ventures.

Hertz absolutely blew its chance coming out of covid / cp11. No one went to jail. Investors, customers and employees paid the price. C suite were the real winners! 🏅

Give them another six months and they’ll be gone. These people have destroyed nearly everything that was left to destroy. At this point, there doesn’t seem to be any path to recovery—bankruptcy appears to be very close.
