Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

Q2 Reviews?

First time I have ever had an End of Quarter review. Questions included: what are you most proud of accomplishing, areas for growth and support needed.

Felt like preparations for exit. Maybe Allstate will have Q42026 layoffs

I’m
So sick of metrics and having a report card like I’m in grade school. Then asking me what I want my future at Allstate to look like. I just want to make it to retirement. He had the nerve to ask how long I have!!!

@z3

AGREE, if they can’t run with the big dawgs then we got to toot em and boot em!!! Like big TOMMY always says “we got to toot em and boot em”. Thanks for the motivation and positive intent.

I had to fill out the exact same form at the end of last quarter. It's supposed to address and concerns and help catch problems early so PDS conversations aren't so I'm depth and there's no surprises

Sounds like a means to facilitate a professional dialogue with an employee. Perhaps assume a bit of "positive intent", and your outlook will improve. This is not the place for everyone for any number of reasons (pay, benefits, leadership, nature of work, standards, etc.), and instead of playing victim, be proactive and find a better situation for you personally. Generally a good company, but there are better, and certainly many more that are worse.

@h2 it’s not performance management,. Performance management is shape up or ship out! It’s a death sentence

This is just their usual corporate BS. I got officially asked about my “development”, if there are books I want to read or some other nonsense. It’s like when they recommend exercise and meditation but I can’t actually use my health insurance because the deductible is $13,000. You can read self improvement books but here’s a 2% raise, thanks for the 55 hour work week.

It’s called performance management. If you have good leader, you should be used to it. When my staff received inconsistent, they knew well ahead of time some major improvement required.

Who shared the questions? Your ME? Your Lead ME? Could you share the questions here?

I received the same questionnaire and find it suspicious. My leader surprised me with the questions and expected me to answer the questions instantly. It made me uncomfortable that I wasn’t given time to think about the answers and my leader suggested some very weak answers. I felt unappreciated and unsupported. I’m not clear about the purpose of the questionnaire.
