How on earth can a sales force increase the takeaway count if its company is not publishing new content?
No talk about the IPO and nothing said about the fact that sales are not looking good for Fall. My manager told us that EA/IA school adoptions are lower than last year. Fewer takeaways over past years and lost business to competitors is extremely high.

Ha! The opening was MH attempt to tell everyone what he told you before on a First Friday call for years ago, if you aren't happy here , then Leave! So the “rah rah” opening music for this FF was a mellow Wi---e Nelson classic. Which was an odd choice, as MH noted. Then he said, “the phrase that really sticks out for me is, ‘You were always on my mind.’”

For Back to School - I hope Sales Enablement actually does something useful like, IDK - enable us to sell? Barbwire probably is the reason they are ineffective though. Tired of the rah rah and losing to McGraw when on campus in the East

All while may salary is $52,000 and as long as my 2020 Toyota Corrolla doesn’t break down on me.. Maybe i should drive our 2010 pick up truck which has 120,000 miles on it. only it doesn’t have a tailgate on it and my cengage swag might blow out on the highway. If faculty ask, i will just have to tell them the truth , Cengage is outpacing the competition, my bank account and pickup truck is proof!
@gh I predict that No one will ask any real questions! It will all be RAH RAH!!! After last first friday everyone has learned to just shut up, go quiet, don't challenge, mark your tasks in salesforce, Fill out spreadsheets.
Back to school will look like:
wake up, get in car at 9am, click the concur mileage app start your journey to campus , end the concur mileage app when you arrive to campus, plan to see 10 to 15 instructors, ask the faculty the most basic questions in each call, log each call into salesforce, grab lunch and be sure to expense it, see 6 professors after lunch, log these calls into Salesforce and ALWAYS REMEBER TO CREATE NEW FAKE TASKS THROUGHOUT THE DAY. Get in car at 2:30 or 3pm ;click the Concur Mileage app start journey home, Click end Concur mileage APP. DO NOT Look at Phone or Turn on computer until the next morning. Repeat! 3 days a week or until they mandate 4 days a week.
Should I take Monday and Friday office days? Or Thursday and Friday's?
My manager apologized to me because they realized they sounded like the Ge----o, a crazed person micromanaging their own micromanaging behavior. Don't get mad at your Manager, because their managers are micromanaging them. Let's just get to the IPO so that new leadership can be appointed and APPOLLO can be a distant memory.
At least they are doing it on the First Friday of the month, ( given we were closed last Friday) That's an improvement by management. Maybe they will have a huge announcement and talk about the research and all the money spent. Going forward Cengage will be rebranded in all lower case letters... cengage

yes, I predict that all of the posts on here about the last First Friday have been read my management numerous times and MH will try to show that he and KT in HR are both in alignment. They have been practicing on how to convince us that everything is going as planned.
I bet they won't mention the elephant in the room (THE IPO).
