Thread regarding Capital One layoffs

This won't end soon

I keep seeing people expect this to be over soon and that things will go back to normal. It's hard not to pity them. Normal is so far behind us it's barely a dot on the horizon anymore. There's no "over soon." This horror is the new normal.

To the last poster, you need not worry about anything for at least 6 months to a year. They will bring you in, make you feel welcome and wanted. I would wait a year before making any big move assuming your time at this company will always be like this early honeymoon. This is the way a cult works. I do wish you all the best of luck.

Oh boy, I start on 7/20, what will I be walking into? I’ll be handling controls in enterprise payments out of the Richmond office.

Guess it’s a good thing I told my husband to stay in Tampa until I know this is a good fit and worth him moving up to Virginia. I have no issue quitting after 2 months if it’s a sh!tshow.

I did 22 years.. COE winner, opened sites... you eventually run out of steam dealing with the nonsense and your ticket gets pulled and you will get piped...embrace it bc the pay/benefits arent worth the stress. Its not the company that it was in late 90s. Lke the previous poster said.. its been like this for a while.

It's been going on for 26 years, it is not the 'new normal'. This is just the way it is working here.
