I've been trying to stay on top of what's happening but I haven't seen anything concrete. Does anyone have any updates on the current layoff situation?

@1rc its always easier to say you love or hate something if you are getting paid well over $1M per year.
the Executives earn more in incentives if they ship more American jobs to India. There is a bonus component to their incentives packages so it make sense that they would be so motivated to ship American jobs to India. Executives benefit.
@1y6 Raiders of the Lost Ark. Snakes, I have those (Indian) snakes !
@1rc Indians invasion
@1x1 stop the steal !
@1rc This was how foreigners took over USA.
i found it Sastry's posting about how much he loves the USA on Linked-In to be absolutely disgusting. He may love the USA but he has absolute disdain for USA workers and USA jobs evidenced by the amount of off-shoring he has led during his tenure
@1j8 Indira Ghandi would be so proud how India conned the US & their corporations to fill the pockets of their CEOs & Shareholders with all the money they are making hiring foreign scabs all at the expense of American labor. It's dispicable.
@1a2 TIAA can save 30% in labor costs by outsourcing to India. Problem is, Indians do 50 % of the work and it takes 50 % more time & then you have to build in the time zone difference so the net loss to TIAA is 15% loss in client count and aggregate annual labor costs increasing still at 5% w/no end in site. The cost and productivity savings looks great on paper; much much worse in the real world.
Ask yourself - can my job be done in India, even if it’s a poor version of what I do? If you answered yes, then always assume they will look for a way to go cheaper even at the cost of quality.
TIAA would rather save money than have respect for their product and employees.
@m0 Oh, I think you might be surprised. People who know stuff are just a lot more selective about where and with whom they share it.
No one on this board actually knows anything of you haven’t figured it out yet.
more jobs will lost to India.
