Thread regarding T-Mobile layoffs

Get rid of the fat

I actually think layoffs could be beneficial for this place. We have so many layers of management doing exactly nothing that nobody would miss. Instead of laying off the people who actually get things done, they should for once let go of the right people and everybody would benefit.

You could eliminate the entire OP office and the company would gain greatly.

@f6 OP probably doesn't know what an MSO is.

My Mgr in Ops is one of the rare exceptions. Knows his shh and works hard. Looks after us too. He'd be a loss to the company

Completely agree that the fat in this company is all at the sr manager and above level. Money hungry political performers

@bt Clearly you don't understand MSO facilities and people needing to take PTO.

Exactly. The Snoqualmie office closing is a textbook case of ICs paying the price for management bloat. Look at my Sr. Manager his entire contribution was dragging us into team and 1:1 meetings just to waste our time with terrible jokes, while we had to laugh like clowns just to keep our jobs because of his 'connections.' Cut the useless senior dead weight at the top, not the people actually doing the work.

You assume middle managers are the target?

Yes, except the people in management don’t have the ability to do this because they are worthless pieces of sh-t, and when they do do it, then end up just replacing you with In d Ian’s.

@OP+1kvqbz178 , in the reply below, @ab+1kvqbz178 admitted that ”SWOPS” has ”2 per switch”, and ”1 isnt allowed to touch the phone”. Seems a bit excessive, don’t you think?

In the ”Big Cuts Coming August” thread, @f7+1kv8awxt6 stated ”T-Mobile does NOT use DS0’s and copper wires”. This is NOT 1982, why the need for all the SWOPS folks? Send the support to the GCC or offload to contractors.

@af you sound like the very part of management folks mentioned below. Schedule your half hour 1x1s for the month to talk about the weather and sports and stfu.

This company is WAY to management heavy and no clue what 80% of them do. From what I can tell they just resend emails that we just got from other managers.

Some how the management team thought is was a brilliant idea to lay off all the ppl in SWOPs except for 2 per switch. 1 isnt allowed to touch the phone only.deal with contractors the other only.work on the computer. The guy that deals with contractors has to pull doubles pretty much every day. That's how managers think. Oh wait they dont think

Easier to lay off people they don't have to look in the eyes of. Today's leaders have no grit; no courage; and no work ethics. Fake it until you make it got them where they are today: don't expect them to change now.
