- Reach out to your network
- Attend in person networking events & socials
- Avoid recruiters, especially ones outside your race
- Avoid middleman recruitment companies (dice etc). Their listed "roles" are ancient (3-4 days old) copy-pastes of the original company's posting.
- Make a list of companies, check their job boards around lunch every day, sign up for email alerts
- Avoid remote gigs
- Leave Portland
- If desperate. Pretend to be local & don't ask relocation. Drop full address from your resume, drop location from LinkedIn
