Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Layoffs will happen

Per Dan Ives of Wedbush Securities this morning on Mornings with Maria on Fox Business: "Look, a lot of Big Tech, they were spending money like 1980s rockstars. And I think that really shows. Sometimes they were increasing 15, 20% per year. I still think it's a 'rip the Band-Aid off,' still some more headcount cuts. We think potentially another 8 to 10% headcount cuts in Big Tech. You look at what happened with Meta, and that's a good example. Once Zuckerberg finally read the room, cut in terms of what he needed to, stock ultimately lifted. I think, be that as a catalyst, I think you will see a continued cutting of heads in Big Tech because they're getting ready for the Category 5 storm in terms of what we're seeing with the macro."

It isn't a matter of if this will happen, but when. We have only ourselves to blame, especially in Telecom. We allowed our products to become a commodity.

There should be a company-wide targeted mass-mailing to employees to let us know that there is a possibility your position will be impacted by head count reductions throughout the company. If your position or business unit will not be affected, then you won't be receiving an email. It's that simple, but T prefers to keep its employees on edge wondering and worrying about the next employee cuts. It's really a sick demented process, but it is the T way!

When? When will they let us know?

I have heard so many rumors from higher ups that I believe this maybe one of the biggest cuts ever at T. All those who leave..good luck …and all those left over…you may wish you left. You are on the Titanic without a captain or direction.

"Yes, T is not Big Tech! It's a completely different industry altogether! So, this doesn't apply to T whatsoever!"

Who do you think our largest customers are? As the Nasdaq goes, so does T. We can offset some by retail, but not all.

12 minutes and there is some a-s phuck that down votes this. It is true, everything I said is true and there is nothing you can do to change it. Hopefully AT&T will be shed of you soon. There are so many boot lickers, but they are soon being revealed for the value they provide, ZERO. They fungible as Stankey has said before.

The amount of graft from our contractors is beyond belief. SWBT, SBC and now AT&T have been a piggy bank with no bottom for decades for those contractors.

Funny how when I place a spotlight on the problem they come on fast and say "We are legit, We are legit!!" Legit just like the contractor that was stealing power cable after hours until he cut the wrong cable... Look at Beck Construction. They built millions of square feet of now unused space, yet they are still shacked up in downtown Dallas. Nobody ever even questioned that company. So many days of seeing Beck employees doing not phucking thing, it would make the Italian Mafia proud (Cosa nostra does not exist BTW, I'm required to say that) with their "no work jobs". Want to buy a roll of electrical tape, that will be $10.99. Want to have your vendor install a fluorescent light over the new equipment ,GreyBar want's $150 for each kit, just to hang the light. You will need two for every light fixture. They want their cut of AT&T money, they get it. Then AT&T has to buy the light fixture for several hundreds more. After this some other "vendor" will roll in to do a study to see if (THEY CAN MAKE HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS) I mean if they can "save AT&T money by retrofitting the light switches with poorly installed motion switches" to try to save AT&T money because the adults that work here can't turn off the lights themselves. That is why I have to use a phucking flashlight to do my job.

Many of us high seniority Leg T workers just want to gtfo while we still have the 2 years pay in our CWA contract for voluntary or Involuntary termination. I hope to get it this year, likely March 15th, and enjoy my 109 paid weeks (104 + 5 weeks vacation) and after that start my pension and 401k distributions. I imagine a lot of occupational workers who got promoted to management now wish they didn't and that they were still union. It would suck to be a lowly manager at this company.

Contractor workforce is the future. Just a few T folks needed to issue PO’s. That is that solid mobility network is built. When T is done with you, then you work for those contractors

t needs to audit all of the contractors driving 100,000 dollars trucks . T got taken for a ride t needs to go all out with their audit teams to recollect misused funds and or double charges. Fire the insiders that used their buddy contractors to steal from T shareholders.

The only thing that is guaranteed at T…is the fact that headcount surplus will never stop. In fact the cadence for them has not changed for 10 years….

A utility company like AT&T does not need that many workers. Time to run the business like a business.

You people are laughable.
“doesn't apply to T whatsoever!” …are you seriously that naive?
T is a very sick company and will not recover from its lack of planning and execution. It’s simply a matter of time.T offers premiums prices for marginal products. If you really believe that T is immune from more drastic layoffs…good luck, you’ll be the one crying when they tap you and say thanks but you’re no longer needed. There is no viable long term career plan for anyone here…period.
