Fake JDI Day traditions

What’s up with these events today like they have been a long time tradition? What’s the point of hyping these irrelevant events? What the he-l is a swoosh cup? Is there anything more irrelevant than a Nike Mile? Perhaps they trying to cover up the fact how fun JDI days used to be?

They explicitly said in all the FAQs that it was for employees only but there were so many people who brought their freaking kids. WTH. I don't want to hang out with your dang kids, and I don't think Nike catering plans for them to be eating and drinking.

Curious, when did our employee events include family members/children. I’m not anti-family or anti-children, but these are employee appreciation/celebration moments so I’m just confused. Like at the PHK re-naming, the food ran out very quickly. Noticed a lot of kids around… If it’s family-friendly, then be explicit, if it’s not be explicit. People are making a lot of assumptions these days.

“The Nike Mile is irrelevant”

JDI was great - haters be always hating- the company stock is in the 40s and they are still spending the money to create a way to celebrate the people who show up care and pour passion into the product. Sh-t could be so much worse! Let’s be grateful ❤️

@ap It's not about the money so much as public safety. People used to (and some still do) treat JDI as an excuse to start day drinking at 8am. I remember seeing how shwasted people were for the 50th and then alllll those people got in their vehicles and drove home, or went to the Greek (or elsewhere) for an after party. The view from SWB10 is etched in my mind. A team was passing a bottle of Kahlua around the Dan Fouts coffee seating area; EMS being called because some drunk dingdong was hitting their dab pen in the car after spending the AM/PM in the sun. Rookie shh.

Beer drinking funds have been slashed this year, hence why they’re only offering it after 4. Ain’t no one gonna stick around that long, the field is empty enough. Maybe EH might pop out from hibernation and show his face?
