What were these secret foscussions that caused a clash between a board member and AM? The discussions have been described as a “deal” and “sensitive negotiations” and “essential discussions”. The plot thickens. It could range anywhere from something relatively small to - dare I say it - a merger/buyout. Let the speculation begin.

OP nah you’re reading way too much into this. It could have been discussions about ANY deal - not necessarily something in the scale you’re suggesting. Besides it seems like the opportunity for another company to buy merge with Bo has passed since the stock price has increased over the past year. It’s no longer a discount and our combined liabilities and cost outweighs the value now.
It’s really become clear. BP serves no purpose in the world anymore. Get this nonsense ended. Do the shell merger and we can all move on from Texas city, Alaska pipeline, DWH, JB, BL and beyond whatever you want to us the P for. Company, culture, board and leadership is dead. How about beyond pizzed off.
