Make peace with the fact you could lose your job at any moment. It's less draining than the constant roller coaster. And at the end of the day, no job is worth sacrificing your health, peace, or well-being.

This is true, sadly. Optum treats employees like trash that needs to be taken out every quarter. That’s a step in balancing the books.
If you want to stay with this sh---y company, the only way to find peace is to somehow be okay with the risk of being chucked in the bin, no matter what you do. I can’t, so I’m looking for a new job.

They are a normal part of large international corporations. They are less common in your local and regional health systems. I was laid off at Optum and layoffs are unheard of in my new organization of 10K where every person works in the USA. They will make every effort to redeploy someone before they let someone go.
Hope for the best. Prepare for the worst.
