@h9 why in god's name don't we have Claude Opus 4.8 or GPT 5.5 Deep Thinker to use ? We could layoff 500 IT people easy and be twice as produce.
We were told not to import any pii or plan data into mygait. The sql created by mygait is more text book style. I found that when I used the recommended sql as per mygait it ran slower. When I gave the sql to one of the programmers to tune by hand he made it much more efficient and faster. Mygait is good but it is not necessarily the be all to end all. I found that management has ai on the brain. They don’t know how to use it but are most happy reporting that it’s being used. Walk the walk and talk the talk
Are you worried about AI taking over your job? I’m curious on applying as well but another commenter made a good point, I’m wondering if these types of roles would be more likely to get laid off in the next few years since we can just ask MyGait or Kiro to write queries. How advanced SQL do you need to know? Any other programming languages needed? Is most of your time spent on meetings or actual work/writing queries? I’m looking to step away from a product owner role, tired of so many pointless meetings.
@d4 yeah my work life balance is good. Had to work long hours during the sf transition but now the workload is manageable. Not to sound like a homer but mygait has saved me many hours on my work with writing queries and diagnosing problems etc
Do you normally have a good work life balance? I assume you don’t have to work weekend
How so?
Unpopular opinion but I would argue this is a role ripe for AI disruption in the next 1-2 years.
they calculate how many lies the executive leadership and board tell.
they analyze data
@OP mostly pulling data from snowflake and connecting it to Tableau to build reports. Not very stressful but can be due to tight turnarounds but that’s most roles
