Thread regarding Centene Corp. layoffs

Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA)

As inflation continues to rise, it would be great to see Centene consider a COLA (cost of living adjustment) to better support all their employees. Everything got more expensive except our paychecks…. People Leaders reading this, I’m sure you all need a COLA too!!! Help us!

@d0 Wrong. The people do have the power. It’s within your constitutional rights. Read it. All of it. The power is yours. You simply refuse to acknowledge it.

Last time they did a 'cost of living adjustment' they gave people in a certain pay scale a one time 5% increase but took their annual 6% bonus away-and told everyone they did such a good thing, it was disgusting. This company literally could not care less about us. Our 2026 motto is mission simplify in a time where everyone across the country is being laid off, and they don't care about the optics or emotional stress that causes. Our CEO is going on shows saying she wants to replace most functions done by humans with AI. They work us to the absolute dregs gaslighting us that we don't need more staff and then tell us we don't get our full bonus and we get the lowest annual increase in my 10 years at this company. They changed our performance ratings to literally sc--w high performers. And the worst part is that's basically just corporate America now. No one values employees anymore.

People Leaders can’t do anything about it in a company of this size. Talk to your HR business partners and appeal to the comp team.

Inflation is how money is extracted from simple folks like us. They won’t even consider it until they have gotten what they want. With AI and Offshoring as leverage, I suspect that bar is high. We don’t have the bargaining chips anymore.

The last one was in 2022. It's, not going to happen again. They don't care. Do you think they were even remotely thinking "gee, ya know layoffs are going to negatively affect the cost of living for those people now that they have no income"? They didn't care before the layoffs they def don't care now - they only care about AI and their pocketbooks.

COLA are you kidding me. We are lucky to have jobs moving forward. Do you not see the layoffs coming? AI and touchless is taking over and not mentioning losing CMS contract.

They did that in late 2022.

Nice thought, but it hasn't and won't happen. If you want COLA, you have to work for the government on the taxpayers' dime.
