I am one of the impacted associates . Was promoted earlier this year then suddenly let go. Two weeks later, I’m still stuck in my room dealing with constant depression and anxiety.
How is everyone else coping with the sudden change . I clearly didn’t see this coming , falsely assume my rockstar status insulated me

Grow a pair. You are not sick or dying. Setbacks only make you stronger. You will live and learn from this experience. For a start you will never get fooled by the corporate dream again. You're just a number on a spreadsheet. Move on. Opportunity knocks.
The rock star SM of our team was let go while the mediocre SM on our sibling team survived. Do they intentionally include high performers to avoid legal scrutiny?
:( this post is so sad
im sorry, things will get better op
I know exactly how you feel because I went through the same thing. I was always rated EP or SP, but because of my long tenure, my pay was on the higher end. I didn’t see this coming at all, and when it hit, I felt completely empty inside and so heavy-hearted.
Fortunately, I chose to apply internally and managed to land a new position within the company. I also remember a lot of people who were laid off back in 2008 but eventually made their way back to Fidelity.
Hang in there. Reach out to the people who know you well and let them know you'd appreciate it if they kept you in mind for future openings—remind them that you’d love to come back. Take this time to sharpen your resume and polish your LinkedIn profile. There are also so many new AI-related roles popping up out there where we can train and build on our skills.
Best of luck to all of our fellow laid-off associates. Hug hug
@OP I’m so sorry you were laid off. I was as well, so I can empathise but also advise that letting this debilitate you is not healthy. I know you know this. Put your training to the test. Put systems in place in life, like you would in work, to b successfully delivery on your new project called YOU. Put a routine in place. Creates daily calendar. Commit to forward motion. GET UP. Letting this dictate how you feel about yourself and your circumstances will not magically change the outcome so you must get moving. Even if it’s just to take daily walks and make your bed, get going my friend. Systems thinking!
