Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Baskin Ridge meeting

Anyone know what's going on in NJ? Heard a bunch of senior leaders are out there for a couple of days. Rumor mill says they are discussing more cost cutting

We were told there will be quarterly layoffs but I don't think that SD's know the depth of them until they are told to hit a number. So this meeting is likely a colossal waste, but I bet we see a picture on LinkedIn on how energized and excited they are, with no explanation why.

@jp BEAD $ for the fiber part. Starlink will be the biggest wireless player within the next 3 years. Starlink will be the buyer of Vz wireless. Just for city penetration. Their IPO , when offered., will be worth 500 times what Vz is currently trading at.

@jk If you sell off wireless Verizon goes bankrupt and will become Sprint... just look where Sprint is right now! How is Sprint doing these days? Who owns a POTS line these days? And putting fiber into ever house and business in the USA would cost at least 2 Trillion to replace wireless. Where is VZB going to come up with 2 trillion and how are your going to connect the fiber to cars on the carriage ways?

LOL just a few days of doing nothing, hob nobbing. telling leaders to be more scrappy and do more with less.... NOTHING CHANGES... we used to have a mantra "change energizes us" which was put in place to get people excited about layoffs... now its "the only change is headcount reduction"

You’ve got to love the new VZ leadership mentality. Push work around from organization to organization with no clear guidance, consistency or messaging in goals, objectives, or responsibilities. Just figure it out and don’t ask to many question because the answer(s) are different at every level of leadership. As someone who’s always taken pride in their work…this is extremely frustrating.
