@ev cloud architect are bull shyte artists. Architecture diagrams are already available from CSPs. All they do is join calls and do NOTHING. I am a contractor and we do all the work. Optum employee do absolutely nothing except berate us for the bad decisions they made.. Someone finally took notice. These USELESS employees especially the older architects that have been here for decades still stuck on legacy mindset are destroying this company Glad I will have other clients when this ship sinks. Time to drain the swamp! 🦛

It's beyond massive...but they are doing it in a phased manner to soften the blow. I can confirm BS architects are impacted. All the were doing was copy paste info, someone finally noticed n the house of cards is about I come down.

@dz they have a separate if teams? I thought it's all UHC/Optum tech? Why would they have separate redundant teams? No offense just did not know. It makes sense they are going to consolidated all these teams.

@cz Hallmark of an executive. They think their time is too important to care about about spelling and grammar, it's almost intentional, subconsciously perhaps. They also act like that it is beneath them to know details. They also act d-mb so others can do the work. Honestly I have seen this over and over again.

@c5 I am aware of only onshore. Offshore is relatively safe for now for too low costs.

@d0 Product sunsets by June 30/end of Q2. Prep for earnings to focus on margins. Layoffs in May/June will align. Shrink to grow.

What's striking are plans to cut headcount for OI-related things 60% over 3-4 years and invest in AI automation. Products will go bye-bye and focus will be on platforms. Palantir wrote the book for our strategy and it's not pretty. If you think leaders are d-mb now, they will use AI for all decision making = disaster in the market.

Hush hush much of Optum will get folded into UHC in early 2027.

@OP True and false all at the same time. First the truth, there is a May 28th RIF and it's widespread in ETIPS and OT. The OP breaking this news is like someone posting the sun rose this morning. Ummmm no kidding.
Now the False, The OP is a liar about talking to an exec who spilled any beans.

I know for a lot of people this is horrific news. For me.. I'd gladly take the severance and unemployment and leave happily. They need to bring back voluntary lay offs. I'd have a great summer.

@a4 . Everyone knows by now they're is a big layoff coming.. end of May n Jun. I have contacts way up I have. when martins and co-ktails are flowing so do their mouths. Why do to think I got a mansion with a pool n a boat. This is the price I to pay to stay employed, get my bonuses and RSU n stay informed. N informed I am!

@OP hmm why would an executive tell you that before it's announced. Not believable. but I do know a lot contractors will be laid off soon as they did not approve extensions I applied for. I have not heard anything about fte layoffs. I have 30+ under me.
