Thread regarding Elevance Health (Anthem) layoffs

New PAC Request Email - A Seat for You

Last sentence - Now is the time.

Now is the time to quit sending that garbage but, since they don't care about anyone here in the least, it will continue.

@rz Well I’m not interested in getting riffed or seeing more jobs going offshore or members getting services denied. That is who I don’t donate to the PAC. Elevance values do not align with mine. Hence no donation from me.

DO NOT contribute ANYTHING to PAC. So many feel pressured to do so but it buys you ZErO goodwill and when you get RIF’d you will never get that money back. DO NOT FALL IN THE TRAP!!

An employee should contribute to a PAC (Political Action Committee) to support candidates or policies that align with their workplace, industry, or personal interests. PACs allow employees to combine contributions with others, which can give them a stronger collective voice in the political process. Some employees believe contributing helps influence laws or regulations that could affect their jobs, businesses, or communities. Contributions are voluntary and are one way people choose to participate in civic engagement.

After Citizens United, can’t the company just fund the PAC? Why do they need our pennies?

I've never worked for a company like this (large, for-profit type) - are PACs a normal thing for similar organizations? Been sleeved out by these PAC emails and that policy meeting too..

Asking for donations to build relationships with D’s and R’s to influence business legislation, pretty disgusting.

Now is the time... does it take two watches to tell the time? Oh wait, two watches decided it was time to leave with a big payout before the DOJ could question him so he didn't need to do time! (allegedly-satirically...) Time for the SLT to realize employees aren't going to fund their PAC so they can get favorable treatment on investigations after they've lined their pockets.

Wow. They are getting desperate for money. Too bad none of us are too stupid to pay money do we can lose even more benefits and job protections. This company will not lobby to help us but the shareholders who would gladly get rid of as many people possible.
