I understand job market is tough but what you are asking is called fraud. Don’t do this. Try to find a new job, my understanding is that H1B holders get 60 days to find a new job. If you can’t, then return to your home country and find a job there

Just got back home and figure out your job life. Stop trying to play games. It's people specifically like you who ruin it for everyone else both US citizen and non citizens.

H1-b's I big tech does it all the time after they're put on PIP. They'll go on fake medical leave job hunting.

Being laid off is a totally different matter. Consult your lawyers.

No - once you have been notified the wheels are turning on the separation. In terms of your visa, the immigration dept at Fidelity will guide you through (and assist you) with the next steps (I.e. what you can do).

If you play games with the visa process you will end up on the radar of federal immigration and it is unlikely that you will slip through the cracks.

Unless you truly know what you are doing, that is a very slippery slope.
You really have to know the federal and state specific laws to pull that off.

Otherwise, when you get pushback you won’t know when and how to respond.

I’m writing a book on this very subject but can’t publish until I’m permanently out of the workforce. It’s way too controversial.
But it might be sooner than later.

@OP right. Game the system. Just what we need - more fraud and visa abuse in the USA.

Wouldn't that be unethical?
