Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

End of the road

I’m officially out of this hellhole in August and I just want to hear some of the feelings of people who left. I’ve been here for 4 years, 2 years too long and decided to go back to school full time. I could only imagine it feels like the weight of the world off of my shoulders

I left and I feel alive again. I feel young again. I can breathe again. I still have bad dreams from time to time about two hateful and conceited BNY blame bosses who tried to throw me under the bus. But, I wake up and laugh it off. I truly feel sorry for the people I knew who remain at BNY. There is no way in the world they are happy. It is horrible to have to depend upon and need BNY. Shame of it is, the place could be so much better if only honesty and respect were alive. My advice - do as little as possible to get by and do what it takes to get out.
BNY is a place where losers rule and losers remain.

Congrats to you OP! I did over 2-years with BNY and like you, I feel I should have left after the first 12-months.

Some of my co-workers jumped the BNY ship and went back to school full-time for advance degrees. You're not missing out on anything by leaving BNY. When their AI investment bombs out, when the stock price drops, and after the current crop of C-suite execs leave for greener pastures... there will be no reason for BNY to exist.
