Don’t. It’s a hot mess and you will be powerless to fix it. Executives don’t give a fu-k and you’ll be used as a scapegoat.

IT governance roles: anything related to oversight, qa, qc, vendor management, risk management, strategy roles, reporting, process/ procedures. Sort of a catch all term for many roles that are fragmented in the organization

Are you trying to say that we actually HAVE people theoretically in IT governance? What exactly do they do other than apparently make sure nothing ever gets built to give the mistaken impression that USAA has proper IT governance? You search for a data dictionary and all you find is a few fossilized and fragmented SharePoint scraps from years ago outlining what a data dictionary might look like.

And then there was the time they tried to get a handle on data sources by asking report producers where they got their inputs. Like trying to feed a dog from the back end.

ERC has a couple new leaders in tech. On the flip side there’s leadership that’s been there since the 90’s - and the bounce from IT, to business IT to governance / oversight roles - and that’s why nothing with ever change for the good in IT (or security). The rot is deep.

What is the level of role? How desperate are you? Those two answers will help us guide you better.
