For a while, I was afraid to commit
But this week I will be going in like a free spirit.

I was always a high performer, but no one ever gave me the credit..
But this week I will be going in like a free spirit.

The top management has acted one too many times like a bandit.
Which is why this week I will be going in like a free spirit....

I am always contacted by toxic managers during prod issues last minute...
Which is why this week I will be going in like a free spirit.

If what happened at spirit isn't affecting you, sorry to say humanity has lost all its spirit.
Which is why this week I will be going in like a free spirit...

I know my days are numbered,
In this firm, in this town..
Where my hardwork was labelled as a work of a clown.

The news of Tuesday or Wednesday or Thursday is inevitable
Which is why this week I will be going in like a free spirit.

I loved this country ever since I got here,
But the hate these days I see is unable to bear..

I spent my youth here like I was investing in a future.
My loved ones back home, wasting away every single day
Never let me feel the guilt of not caring for them.

The administration crackdown on immigration, left many like me say good byes to their loved ones virtually,
Living with guilt to not be able to hold those close who brought me in the life.

Someone will still find a way to make fun of this post,
Which is why I say all hope is lost.

I am walking in this way like a free spirit .

I have given it all,
Through the hardships I stood tall.

I have no desire to fight a battle already lost.
Which is why this week I'm walking in like a free spirit.

Near… far… wherever I logged,
I was there before sunrise, still answering calls.
I gave you my years, my spreadsheets, my soul—
But you gave me a meeting invite titled “Quick Sync”,
Which is corporate code for “your badge won’t scan tomorrow.”

I thought loyalty meant something,
But you said “market conditions” like it was poetry.
And as my laptop shut down for the last time,
I swear I heard it whisper,

A Shakespearean tragedy in mesh fabric.

You said I was “valued,”
Which is HR for “we practiced this speech in the mirror.”
And when you handed me that severance packet,
I felt the true meaning of adulthood:
Pretending this is fine while dying inside.

You laid me off… but my LinkedIn goes on.
I’ll rise again like a phoenix with a freshly updated résumé.
You can keep your branded water bottle—
I’ve moved on to emotional hydration.

You cut me loose, but my memes will live forever.

There was love… there was trust…
There were those awkward team‑building exercises
Where we pretended to enjoy each other.
Now I stand at the edge of unemployment,
Wind in my hair,
Severance check in my trembling hand,
Ready to boldly apply to jobs I’m 60% qualified for.

You laid me off… but my hope carries on.
I’ll find a new badge, a new desk, a new Slack channel to mute.
You may have ended my journey with you,
But you’ll never end my dramatic storytelling.

You broke my heart,
But my job hunt ballad will echo through eternity.
