Thankfully they let the August 2025 RIF remain on the payroll until the Sept 20th so that we could get our final option vest. Sounds like they didn't do that with the recent RIF. For many of us that September vest was huge both in size and due to the stock price. I walked away with north of ~$225k in stock, plus another $140k in severance. Oracle was very generous last year, sounds like they are getting cheaper with each RIF.

OP, I doubt that it is a strategy. Look at how the company is being run. Layoffs were as random as everything else. Don't give these people credit for being able to have two consecutive thoughts even remotely related to each other.

Yes this is 200% true and Oracle has used RSU for its layoff. Terminating employees just before their vesting dates and Severance is so poor than other companies. In fact, Meta, Amazon and other companies are providing 6+ months of health care in US, where as Oracle provides the bare minimum.
Its good to hear someone has raised this in news channels.
