What did this round achieve?

Other than pi-s off everybody and get rid of some of the best people?

Reduced the bloated spend in GT. It’s sad that people are being let go but people need to realize that effort doesn’t equate to value. Lot of people working hard in GT but many projects create no value for the company!

It further exposed the incompetence of Rajeev and majority of VPs reporting down. I have to think that someone will wise up and purge most of them and replace with experienced engineering leaders focused on results over the size of their org.

I feel so bad for the SD in our org. The guy just joined the company last summer and has so much knowledge and real world experience. As an engineer, I’ve learned so much from him, he has made me a better engineer. He has to report to AC and he is doing everything he can to navigate to incompetence above him to keep things moving forward. He runs circles around AC and could care less of people’s job title or the size of his team. I wish we laid off AC and just had everything report to the SD.

Increased our AWS spend - since the new ITC engineers who cost 8-10K less per month in salary will burn through 50K a month in compute costs trying to look busy before AI takes their jobs

Winners = VPs, Sr Directors, Directors, ITC.
Losers = Remote folks, GT teach as a whole, Nike as a whole.
