Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Severance question related to disability

If you are on long-term disability for two years, it looks like Wells will let you go. HR said no severance if you are let go for this. Anyone have any experience with receiving severance after being let go due to not returning to work due to disability? HR said my other option is to go on unpaid job search leave. I can't do unpaid. I have bills.

There is no way you are on year 4 of continuous long term disability.

year 4 of disability - still get paid, still get benefits.

There is a lot of misinformation on this board - learn to filter the noise.

My understanding is even if you are on disability and your name is up for a layoff, you are terminated without severance. I know whats not your questions but ive seen it happen to someone on a different team I work with. Id assume in this case, youd absolutely not receive severance because you past the job protection window.

I thought about going out on disability before I was laid off but didnt want to risk not getting severance.

How long do you think you should get paid for not working?

if you are on disability for 2 years, you are no longer considered an employee so by definition you don't get severance.

Your path to severance is returning to work prior to the two years disability ending, if your medical conditions permit it.... and then getting laid off.
