Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

LM affected groups

If you got told to WFH and are in LM what group are you in. Just make it broad we don’t need to know your manager or anything but everyone just saying they got told to WFH and leaving it at that isn’t helping anyone out lmao

@yz Do you know which departments specifically? Payroll, Commissions, Cost Assurance, etc?

Get rid of the workers and keep the chiefs. Sure that's a winning formula. Soon you're left with people who don't understand the work. And of course all your AI "experts" from another country.

@yy yeah this is confirmed. It’s mainly finance operational roles. Lots or 3rd and 2nd floor employees.

I know a Sr. Mgr in LM who has a 15min morning call scheduled with their Sr. Dir on 5/5… and they never do 1:1s anymore. I wonder if they start notifying people early on in the week.

@d4 labor laws aren't much better here in big Blue CA. Although you can get up to 26 weeks, the max is $450 per week. Gas is almost $7 per gallon.

Finops was not told to stay home so I wonder what is really true. Granted, some don’t bother to show up at the office anyways with weekly “appointments” getting in the way of the 2 hours max per week of actual work product.

Im in FP&A. My Sr Dir that works in NJ told her whole team (NJ, TX and FL) to work from home next week. And next Thursday some people will get the 15min notifications.

Idk which teams are impacted or how many people they’re letting go. But layoff notices are coming next week. In FL our pathetic labor laws give us 30 days. So those impacted will be leaving in June.

By law they have to payout our accrued vacation time. But not your personal time. So if you’re impacted take your personal time. That’s free money you’re leaving to these soulless monsters.

This is so terrible. Next Thursday is the 5th day of month end close. So we’ll be done with closing the books and presenting results to leadership. And for some of us our reward is a layoff notification.

Accounting has a different schedule and whatever is left of csg works from home. Did I miss a group? Doesn’t sound fair to the rest.

Fake Post , it will pop up like this every 2 weeks,
Last Nov, those posts are accurate with the correct date, because it is company wise layoff , and it hit all levels, and hit really hard. like 13% of management FTE, and also including HR., and Finance.

I think it’s fake news at this point. Likely some of the some Lake Mary smokers, ping pong players, playlist updaters, or some other anything but work activity they are known for stirring up drama. What a joke
