For those still inside the red machine, what are the early impressions of the Fiddelke regime? More of the same old?

@113 Exactly. You literally have to wait for someone to leave your department, retire or possibly croak for there to be an opportunity for you to get promoted. Had I known in-role promotions don't happen at TGT, I would have never applied at this company. Good thing I was terminated on good terms; otherwise I would have never left on my own accord considering change is hard, it's a tough economy out there and sometimes the unknown is riddled with anxiety but I am better off not being there anymore and putting up with obvious exploitation.
Every person I know who has stayed behind don't hesitate to inform me that things are going south, and that they feel overworked and underappreciated.
@b3 Completely agree. Why do I take on additional work and have to wait for someone to leave or retire to get promoted? There is zero career progression in this company.
Still major L8+ leadership abilities, rampant micro-management because leaders cannot lead, culture is worst I have ever seen in my time at target
The culture right now totally stinks. No one is proud to work at Target anymore like they once were. Everyone on my team is completely overworked and those doing well find little to no growth opportunities.
Clearer tops down strategy, and strong C-Level communication. But resource deficiencies and a continued relentless push for operational efficiency (read: offshoring to India) have decimated any sense of real culture or pride in the work we’re doing. It’s an exhausting environment to be in, with very little reward for delivering great work. And still some poor leadership at the L8+ level (folks who probably never should have gotten promoted to lead people and are struggling to drive clear priorities for their team).
